Just had some ideas to launch a “Music For Dungeons” style of album. Have a few melodies flowing through my mind; should be something ambient, smooth, loungy, chill … . To get into the mood even further if you know what I mean. Then again, I still have to finish finalising the “yet-to-name” album and some music that …came after that. Right ear … get better … NOW ! Yet again … I hate my lack of time.
Quick ‘n Dirty : Just as the title describes : a Quick ‘n Dirty tryout, after being half deaf on the right ear – which is finally getting cured (!) – with a few synths. Basically it’s the Roland JX-3P, Yamaha AN1x, TR909 fed through a clipping compressor, Novation Nova, Korg MS2000R and an Access Virus.
And it’s proven yet again : Doesn’t matter if a synthesizer is near 30 or just a few years old, … if programmed / tweaked nicely, it’ll sound great.
Nothing too fancy, but nice to be able to finally fiddle with the knobs again.
Have a listen :[audio:http://www.junonoel.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/quick-n-dirty.mp3|titles=quick ‘n dirty]
What happens if you sample a lot of really old and early drumcomputers / machines ? Yes, you make a groovy little tune out of it. Keep in mind, even the melody is actually a “drum” sound from a very early drum machine.
